Isotretinoin Treatment in Adolescence and Adult Height

Is isotretinoin treatment for acne in adolescence associated with reduced adult height?In this cross-sectional study of 379 196 individuals with acne in Denmark, isotretinoin use in adolescence was not associated with reduced adult height. Results were consistent across analyses stratified by age at treatment initiation and cumulative dose.These findings suggest that isotretinoin treatment for acne during adolescence is not associated with impaired linear growth and may inform evidence-based clinical decision-making.
