Are electroencephalography (EEG) microstates associated with future clinical outcomes among young people at clinical high risk of psychosis (CHR)?In this case-control study of 460 individuals at CHR and 183 healthy control (HC) participants, temporal instability of brain microstate networks was associated with CHR status and was significantly increased in future converters to psychosis compared to nonconverters. The findings suggest that temporal instability of EEG microstates may serve as a putative prognostic biomarker of conversion to psychosis in individuals at CHR.
