Novel Anti- Antibody Screening and Early Detection of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

Is gene–encoded putative protein (P85-Ab) testing more effective than Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) VCA-IgA/EBNA1-IgA antibody scoring and circulating EBV DNA for detecting nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC)?In this multicenter case-control study of 812 patients with NPC and 1748 controls, P85-Ab testing showed a sensitivity of 92.5% and a specificity of 98.7%, with significantly higher sensitivity for detecting early-stage NPC compared with existing serologic methods.The high early-stage sensitivity and overall accuracy of P85-Ab support its potential role as a practical biomarker for NPC screening.
