Desmodium styracifolium Total Flavone Capsules for Urolithiasis

Can oral Guang Jing Qian Cao (Desmodium styracifolium total flavone capsules; hereinafter, Guang Jing), a traditional Chinese herbal extract, promote the expulsion of ureteral stones in adults? In this randomized clinical trial involving 606 participants with newly diagnosed ureteral stones or renal colic, the stone passage rate by day 28 was significantly greater with Guang Jing vs placebo (45% vs 34%). Guang Jing significantly improved ureteral stone expulsion by day 28, with an acceptable safety profile in participants with urolithiasis.
