What are the methods of diagnosis and breast cancer–specific survival (BCSS) among transgender, nonbinary, and/or gender-diverse (TGD) individuals with breast cancer? In this cohort study of 112 TGD individuals with breast cancer, patients were generally young at diagnosis, and 51.8% of tumors were self-detected. With a median follow-up of 38 months, the estimated 5-year BCSS was 96.2%. Although short-term BCSS was favorable, the cohort’s young age at diagnosis underscores the value of identifying individuals at elevated risk who may benefit from risk-reducing strategies and earlier breast cancer screening.
