Adoption of a Pediatric Acute Care Cardiology Inpatient Model

Is use of the pediatric acute care cardiology model of care associated with improved clinical processes and outcomes among children with cardiac disease?In this quality improvement study with 1456 patient encounters, the acute care cardiology model was associated with fewer complications as well as improved discharge processes and patient and family experiences. Model use was not associated with increased readmissions.In this study, adoption of an acute care cardiology model of care was associated with improved clinical processes and outcomes without evidence of negative consequences.
