What are the contemporary incidence, overall survival, and cancer-specific survival of gastro-entero-pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP-NENs)?In this cohort study conducted in Ontario, Canada, from 2000 to 2023, 12 877 individuals were diagnosed with GEP-NENs. The incidence of GEP-NENs increased from 1.83 to 7.46 per 100 000, predominantly due to nonmetastatic disease, with 10-year overall survival of 63.3% and 10-year cancer-specific survival of 76.4%.These findings suggest that the rising burden of GEP-NENs largely reflects increased detection of early-stage disease, and although long-term survival is generally favorable, substantial heterogeneity persists, underscoring the need for tailored patient counselling, survivorship planning, and health-system resource allocation.
