CHICAGO – The JAMA Network podcast, “Working on the Precipice: On the Frontlines of the AIDS Epidemic at the CDC,” has won the Excellence in HIV/AIDS Coverage Award from NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists.
The two-part podcast has also garnered a Platinum AVA Digital Award from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.
The production tells the story of when AIDS first appeared in the gay community in 1981 and how a small team of public servants at the CDC raced against the clock to unravel the mystery of this rapidly spreading disease.
