How to Join JAMA Network Media Center

Did you know all Association of Health Care Journalists (AHCJ) members receive free full-text access to all 13 JAMA Network journals?

Additionally, credentialed journalists (including freelancers) can receive embargo access.

See below for clear step-by-step instructions.

Step 1: Create an AMA SSO account

From this page, click “Create a Free Account.”

From here, you will register your name and email address with the American Medical Association (the publisher of JAMA and the JAMA Network).

 

 

 

If you are applying on mobile, you will see this screen (select “media” as profession):

 

 

 

Mobile users will then see this screen (scroll down and select “JAMA Network”):

 

At this stage, mobile users will need to navigate back to this page:

Step 2: Apply for JAMA Network Media Center access

Once you have successfully established your AMA account, return to this page and hit “sign in.” (Desktop users may be automatically redirected).

In your application, we encourage you to describe your beat(s) in detail.

If you are a local- or state-level journalist, let us know where you’re based and what communities you cover.

 

Step 3: Find Story Ideas & Expert Sources! 

👉 Once logged in, review new research under embargo or explore recently published studies across our 13 journals.

👉 Use the JAMA+ Trials portal to:

  • Search by topic or specialty
  • Identify researchers in your area
  • Build local and national source lists
